Workshop for employers and staff involved in the management of injured workers. Course content:

Prevention of Workplace Injury

Workshop for employers and staff. Content will be tailored to suit the workplace following consultation with the employer. Course content:

  • What causes a work related injury
  • Risk factors for musculoskeletal injuries
  • Ergonomics
  • Modifying the work environment
  • Work methods and work organisation
  • Exercise, pause gymnastics, movement breaks

Ergonomic, Job and Risk Assessments

Assessment to analyse and document the physical demands of tasks and duties in a job. Assessment includes:

  • injury risks and bio-mechanical features of the work task
  • injury prevention and ergonomic recommendations are made where there is an assessed risk

The benefits of this assessment:

  • suitable duties for injured workers can be located quickly by matching the job demands with restrictions
  • improved employee/job matching
  • treating medical practitioners can be quickly informed about the job

Workstation Audits

Ergonomic assessment of individual or department workstation design, layout and equipment. Workstation issues will be identified and recommendations made for corrective measures. Used by many employers to prevent work injury claims by identifying problems early.

Comfortable Computing

Course for employers and staff addressing workplace injury from computer use. Participants will gain knowledge and practical skills to enable them to correctly arrange their workstation and avoid injury causing postures and movements.

Manual Handling and Back Care in the Workplace

Instruction in safe manual handling and back care education.
